GETTING HERE

Pilgrim Heights is located just off Highway 30 on a short gravel road, making it easy to access while still feeling tucked away in nature. Situated on the edge of Sportsman’s Lake, our grounds offer a quiet setting surrounded by trees, water, and open space.

Although we’re conveniently located within driving distance of Des Moines, Cedar Rapids, Waterloo, and Ames, once you arrive it feels like you’re far from the noise of the city. This balance of accessibility and seclusion makes Pilgrim Heights a great location for retreats, reunions, camps, and gatherings.

Sportsman’s Lake is a private lake, and access to the waterfront is available only to guests renting our facilities. For safety and to help protect the lake, guests must use Pilgrim Heights’ provided vessels—such as our kayaks, canoes, and paddle boats—while on the water.

Our grounds provide a simple, natural setting where groups can gather, relax, and enjoy time outdoors while still being close enough to nearby cities for convenient travel.
