Retreats and Events

Strong congregations know the value of spending time together beyond Sunday worship. As a resource for the entire Iowa Conference, UCC churches are invited to visit PHRC for retreats, picnics, and lectionary-related programs and events.

Take advantage of Vespers Point, for outside worship; Walnut Shelter, for picnics and BBQ’s; the woodland trails for spiritual meditation; and a range of accommodations, including handicap assessible lodging and meeting spaces, suitable for all ages and for people with special needs.

Join us for church fellowship retreats as well. One of the most effective ways for building lasting relationships, is to center congregational fellowship on the ministry of service. Work-service retreats are a wonderful opportunity for this type of community development.

Facilities / Amenities and Rates

Registration

To make a Reservation: Complete an Event Registration form. One registration form for “group” reservations is preferred. Registrations are accepted on a first come, first serve basis.

A deposit of 20% of the estimated cost of the eventis required to confirm your registration. This deposit will be deducted from the event fee. A “final count” must be provided three weeks prior to the event, along with a minimum of 60% of the final reservation, or risk an additional charge of 10% of the final balance, upon billing.

Cancellations must be received in writing a minimum of 30 days prior to the event to avoid loss of deposit.

Event Contract & Registration Forms

Event Packet

Upon receipt of the Event Registration form and deposit, participants and/or churches will receive a welcome packet 2 weeks prior to the start of the event. Packets will include a letter of welcome, detailed information regarding event(s), a suggested packing list, and a site map.
