Projects Completed

Eight members of Edwards spent 14 man-days at Pilgrim Heights Camp and Retreat Center during
April working on some of the highest priority repair jobs needed there.
  • The Shower house needed new shower faucet fixtures as part of a general refurbishment of both the men's and women's shower rooms.
  • Half the roof of Shagbark had been replaced last fall, but the other half still needed complete stripping, replacement of some of the roof sheathing, and replacement of the tar paper, shingles, and flashing.
  • Inside, the ceiling tile were coming loose and were stained from the roof leaks.
The volunteers from Edwards accomplished all these tasks. A big thank you is in order for those who offered their time and talents for this work. They are: Curley Curl, Dick Jirus, Tom Kenneke, Dave and Sandy Reinders, Milo Smith, Keith Thess, and Dick Werner.

Edwards was by no means the only church sending crews to the camp to help out. The Waterloo church, in particular, had a large group there to clean all the "Oak" cabins (now that the water was back on) and also to repair a difficult problem with the camp's pickup. Others will be power washing and repairing all the canoes, boats, and beach area equipment.

But there is still additional work to be done, and others inclined to help out will be warmly welcomed. The middle May weekends are our next targeted times.
